Considering that the average American takes about 4,000 steps each day, it should come as no surprise that foot pain is a common complaint. Your feet take a lot more punishment than you probably give them credit for, and several types of pain may arise as a result.
At Natural Way Chiropractic, we can help. From diagnosing the cause of your foot to prescribing a safe and effective treatment plan, we’ll help you get back on your feet – literally!
Causes of Foot Pain
•Plantar Fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of pain in the heel. The plantar fascia is a band of connective tissue that cushions and protects the muscles on the bottom of the foot. It also protects the foot from shock and supports the arch. When strained, it becomes weak, swollen and irritated and commonly results in heel pain.
•Achilles Tendonitis. The Achilles tendon is the large tendon that connects the heel bone to the lower leg. When tendonitis occurs in this tendon, it is extremely painful. It may start off mild but will usually progress in severity and may eventually cause the tendon to rupture. Achilles tendonitis is most common among athletes, dancers and women who regularly wear high heels.
•Flat Feet. We’re all born with flat feet, but as we grow, our arches begin to develop. Many people never develop arches, though, and for some people, this can be quite painful.
Regardless of the cause of your foot pain, there is always hope for relief. At Natural Way Chiropractic, we offer safe and effective chiropractic and acupuncture foot pain treatment.
